During the September 7, 2016, Town Council meeting, Johnstown Town Council read a proclamation declaring September 12-18, 2016, Colorado Cities & Towns Week, a statewide initiative of the Colorado Municipal League to recognize the essential role that municipal government plays in our lives.
The Town will celebrate via social media by showcasing some key services provided to residents by the Town, such as public safety, street maintenance, water treatment, etc., using #cocitiesandtowns. Johnstown is also hosting a virtual photo event asking residents to submit photos via Facebook message that captures the essence of Johnstown. Several photos will be selected as a feature on the Town’s Facebook page and homepage on the Town’s website.
Colorado Cities and Towns Week also provides an opportunity to convey to residents that their civic involvement influences their community, and Johnstown residents are urged to participate in their town government.
It’s your time to shine! In celebration of Colorado Cities & Towns Week, send us a private Facebook message with a photo that captures the essence of Johnstown – its beauty, small-town feel, agricultural heritage, etc. All photos will be added to an album on the Town’s Facebook page, and some will be featured as the Town’s Facebook cover photo. Several will also be chosen to rotate on the Town’s homepage. We look forward to your participation and to seeing your photos of the Community That Cares!
