New Pedestrian Crossing Signals

As part of Johnstown Town Council’s 2018 Action Items, motorists will be required to yield to pedestrians with the installation of three new, solar pedestrian crossing signals at some heavy-traffic areas in Town. Signals were installed at Highway 60 and Johnstown Center Drive, as well as Highway 60 and Estes Avenue on May 8. The remaining signal, which will exist at Highway 60 and Idaho Avenue, is tentatively planned to be installed during the week of May 14.

Motorists, please use extra caution as you approach crosswalks, and remember drivers are legally required to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians when using the crosswalks. Pedestrians should use caution as well by establishing eye contact with drivers and cyclists before crossing.
