Given recent rains and hot weather, mosquito season is gearing up. Fortunately, most mosquitos are still in the water and haven’t taken flight yet, so fogging will not be conducted for at least a few more weeks.
Adult mosquito surveillance, or trapping, in Johnstown will begin the week of June 5, and a report will be provided to the Town showing results. Upon the event that a trap comes back with greater than 100 mosquitos, the mosquito control company will plan to fog the surrounding area in the evening, weather permitting.
Notices on when and where fogging will occur will be sent to residents who request the notifications. Johnstown residents who would like to be notified via phone call or email can sign up at http://www.vdci.net/colorado or by calling 970-962-2582.
