PSA from Public Works - Please be careful of what you flush down the toilet/drain. Toilet paper can break down in the system in a way that other materials cannot. It is important to be aware of the people that are out there conducting our town services and that response workers are not unlimited. Your cooperation is very much needed to avoid any type of sanitary issues. Avoid having to call someone out to fix your pipes, don't flush the following:
  • Paper towel - will block your line and toilet
  • Baby wipes, Wet Wipes, flushable wipes - they do not break down and they do not degrade
  • Feminine products - these products can swell and cause a blockage
  • Rags and torn sheets- do not break down and will quickly cause a blockage
  • Socks - do not break down and will quickly cause a blockage
  • Napkins - do not break down and will quickly cause a blockage
